The Pakistani embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rejected media reports that claim that the UAE government has imposed a visa ban on Pakistani nationals.
The reports suggest that visa restrictions are proposed due to misconduct by some Pakistani nationals.
In an official statement, the embassy clarified that these claims are inaccurate and contradictory to the reality of strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
According to the unofficial reports, the UAE authorities cited incidents of protests, criticism of government policies, forgery in identity documents, and involvement in criminal activities such as theft and begging, with a higher rate of complaints allegedly linked to Pakistani citizens compared to other nationalities.
The UAE reportedly shared its concerns with Pakistan’s ambassador, including documentary evidence of these activities, and deliberated on visa restrictions during a cabinet meeting. However, the Pakistani Embassy dismissed these reports, reiterating its dedication to fostering closer ties with the UAE.
The embassy assured the public that it will work collaboratively with UAE authorities to address any issues and ensure the continuity of positive bilateral relations.
Contrary to the official statement of Pakistan's foreign office, there are reports that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stopped giving visas to Pakistani citizens.
Many Pakistani citizens are facing visa problems to go to UAE.
Even Pakistani celebrities and businessmen are not able to get UAE visas. Earlier, Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi also admitted that Pakistanis are facing a lot of difficulty in getting UAE visas.
“Efforts are being made to resolve the issue of Pakistanis not getting visas. If a visa is to be taken, Pakistanis should have return tickets, hotel bookings, and 3000 dirhams.”
