The United Arab Emirates (UAE) top diplomate has once again rubbished rumours about the visa ban on Pakistanis.
For the past two years, false claims have been circulated that the UAE is not issuing visas to Pakistanis, which are untrue, UAE Consul General Dr Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi said while addressing an event in Karachi on Tuesday.
Visa-seekers may directly visit UAE visa centres to process their applications, he said reiterating his resolve to take the Pak-UAE ties to a new height.
The diplomate said: “We have clear directives from our leadership to stand with Pakistan.”
He said some significant projects are in the pipeline and positive developments are expected within a couple of months.
Last week, the Pakistani Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) rubbished such rumours. “These claims are factually incorrect,” the embassy said in a press release while referring to some reports.
It said that Pakistan enjoyed strong and cordial relations with the UAE, and both governments were committed to addressing any issues of mutual concern through official channels and constructive dialogue.
In August, Dr Remeithi asked the elements behind spreading bogus stories to refrain from such silly acts.
He highlighted that activities on social media, whether positive or negative, leave a digital footprint that could impact visa approvals or renewals.
