For all the wrong reasons, the back-to-back leaked videos of Pakistan's social media and TV celebrities have become the talk of the town.

Pakistani television host Mathira had to face the troubling trend of leaked explicit videos targeting public figures after social media celebs Imsha Rehman and Minahil Malik.

Mathira vehemently refuted the videos, accusing detractors of attempting to tarnish her reputation with fabricated content.

Imsha Rehman’s videos spread widely online, making her deactivate her social media accounts citing the ‘overwhelming backlash’ she faced from society. According to a report, she was seen in compromising situations with a friend in videos that were widely shared on WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.

Many social media users have criticised the behaviour of those who shared the video, emphasising the need for empathy and respect for privacy.

Minahil Malik also deactivated her social media accounts but a screenshot that went viral on social media stated till the controversial clip was viral, she would keep her account deactivated.

Minahil claimed that a video purportedly showing her was ‘fake’ and filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The story is not end here. Another TikToker Rida Isfahani made headlines over the privacy breach.

Though some fans and followers showed sympathy with them many accused these influences of doing a ‘publicity stunt’ like Pakistani actress Mishi Khan released a video in which she criticised TikToker Malik for “stooping to the lowest level” for fame. However, Khan didn't mention Manahil Malik directly in the video, but the references she made were directed towards the TikToker.

Yesterday, Mathira broke the silence at 24 Plus, clarifying that these were morphed videos, which first appeared in 2021 and then disappeared. She said these videos again appeared in 2022 and then disappeared and appeared again in 2024.

Mathira said she served notice on the platform, which shared the news about these leaked videos on Twitter and the platform apologized. She said that she also got a forensic report of these videos and the report confirmed that it was not she who was in the videos.

She said that she does not care about what people say, but she is worried only because some people who are very close to her are going through a tough time.

Mathira said she was bold enough and she has even posted pictures of herself in a bikini on her social media platforms. She said she knows and her close friends know she is not wrong. She said that she is a tattooed person and she has no piercings. She said that she won’t be discouraged; she will continue working because she has some obligations.
