BNP workers take to streets to protest disappearance of party senators

Hundreds of workers of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) workers marched through the streets of Quetta to register their protest against what they said abductions of their two senators and their relatives from Islamabad ahead of the passage of the proposed 26^th constitutional amendments by the parliament, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Traffic was suspended on the provincial capital’s Saryab Road due to the protest.

The protestors said that not only BNP Senator Qasim Ronjho had been picked up but also his son and driver.

Similarly, they added, the husband and the son of the party’s female senator Naseema Ihsan had also been kidnapped.  

Similarly in Kalat, hundreds of BNP workers protested on the National Highway connecting Quetta to Karachi against what they said abductions of two party senators and their relatives, resulting in long queues of vehicles on the road.

The protestors said the BNP senators had been kidnapped because the party was opposed to the passage of these amendments.

They vowed to continue their protest until the release of the captives.

Similar protests were also reported from other parts of the province namely Mastung and Wudh.
