Dacoits successfully escaped after robbing passengers of cash, mobile phones, and motorcycles near the Madagi Town Police Station on the Indus Highway in Shikarpur, Sindh, on Sunday morning.
The incident, reported by the 24NewsHD TV channel, has added to a series of growing concerns about the increase in dacoity incidents in the region.
Shortly after the robbery, the affected passengers held a protest rally and sit-in on the Indus Highway. Their protest led to the complete blockage of traffic on the highway, causing significant disruptions.
Traffic between Shikarpur, Larkana, and Jacobabad was also suspended, leaving many travellers stranded and facing severe difficulties.
The protesters demanded that the police take immediate and decisive action against the dacoits.
They also urged the authorities to ensure the return of their stolen belongings, including cash, mobile phones, and motorcycles.
