The Islamabad High Court on Monday disposed of a petition challenging the registration of a case against Baloch students and advocate Iman Mazari, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition seeking to quash a case filed by the Islamabad police against more than 200 Baloch students and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari’s daughter Iman Mazrai for staging a protest outside the National Press Club in the federal capital.

During the hearing, Deputy Attorney General Tayyab Shah told the court that police had withdrawn their FIR against the accused.

Justice Minallah inquired of advocate Zainab Janjua whether the reservations of her petitioners’ were removed. She said every time the administration first registered an FIR then took it back.

On this, CJ Minallah said since the police had withdrawn their FIR, he was disposing of the case.

Advocate Imaan Mazari, along with MNA Mohsin Dawar, were booked on sedition charges by Islamabad police. They had joined Baloch students who were protesting for the safe return of disappeared an M.Phil student Hafeez Baloch.
