HIV/AIDS is spreading in Sindh at an alarming rate. According to a report, 2,531 cases of HIV/AIDS were registered across Sindh from January to October 2024. Of the infected people, 1,313 are men, 615 women and 227 transgender persons. As many as 220 boys and 156 girls have been infected by HIV/AIDS this year so far.

The number of cases registered in Sindh in the first 10 months of 2024 is equal to the number of cases registered during the same period in 2023. However, the number of deaths from HIV/AIDS has decreased this year compared to last year.

In 2023, 3,045 HIV/AIDS cases were registered in Sindh from January till December. At least 277 HIV/AIDS infected people died last year. At least 135 people have died from HIV/AIDS in Sindh this year so far. Among them, 78 were men, 20 women, two transgender persons, 11 boys and 24 girls. In Karachi, 635 HIV cases have been reported in 2024 so far, 110 cases from central district, 93 cases from eastern district, 136 cases from southern district, 76 cases from southern district, 100 cases from Korangi and 120 cases from the Malir district.
