Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has patted on the back of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar for standing up to the Centre’s order to remove him from the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The CCPO called on the chief minister at his office on Wednesday where he extended congratulations to him. Pervaiz Elahi also hugged him.

PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi tweeted the video in which the chief minster commended the CCPO in Punjabi language: “Aidhar aao ji jhappa maaro, Well Done!, Shabash, assi tuhanu jaan nahin dena (come here, hug me, Well done, we will not let you go).

Earlier, the federal government’s orders for Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar to report to the Establishment Division have fallen prey to deadlock, for the CCPO has decided not to leave the post under the duress of the Punjab government.

As per the official sources, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has summoned the Lahore CCPO for a meeting to his office on 12:00 PM.

The Punjab government will also write a letter to the federal government for halting the transfer of CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.

“I cannot leave the charge as CCPO until I am relieved by the Punjab government,” Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said.

Police authorities, on the other hand, said that the matters of joining and relieving of police officers were carried out by the provincial government itself.

“We have not received any letter from the Punjab government for relieving of CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar. Any transfer and relieving orders will be implemented if received,” they added.
