Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Pakistan Television will broadcast Taraweeh prayers live.
She said this while briefing Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday about Information Ministry’s public awareness campaign regarding coronavirus and strategy to persuade people to adopt precautionary measures, especially during the holy month of Ramazan.
She told the prime minister that sufficient publicity of the 20-point agenda agreed between the government and religious figures was being ensured so that worshipers can take precautionary measures before coming to mosques. She said that steps to ensure protection of media workers from coronavirus pandemic also came under discussion at the meeting.
The special assistant informed the prime minister about provision of protection kits to media workers deputed to cover hospitals and isolation centres where coronavirus patients were being treated.
The prime minister directed her to intensify the public awareness campaign regarding precautionary measures against coronavirus.
