Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia said on Monday that India would comply with the guidelines of the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the kits for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Saikia’s statement in the wake of reports about India’s objections to Pakistan’s name on Indian kits.
Such claims were inaccurate, the BCCI secretary said, emphasizing that the India ‘will strictly adhere’ to the ICC rules, which mandate all participating teams to feature the tournament’s logo, including the names of the host nation.
Indian media quoted him as saying: "Whatever the other teams will do regarding the logo and dress code, we are going to follow in true letter and spirit."
“Whether Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan for ICC media engagements is still undecided,” he said.

India had not played any bilateral cricket with Pakistan since 2012-13, when a Misbahul Haq-led squad toured India for a white-ball series. While no Indian team has toured Pakistan after the 2008 Asia Cup, Pakistan teams have been travelling to India for different ICC events in the meantime.
The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan from Feb 19 to March 9. To accommodate India in the eight-nation Champions Trophy, the ICC recently adopted a two-way hybrid model to hold all the Champions Trophy matches involving India in Dubai. Under the same model, the Green Shirts will also not travel to India for any future ICC event in which India will hold Pakistan’s matches at a neutral venue.
Yesterday, the ICC rejected reports suggesting that the BCCI had decided to exclude the host nation, Pakistan, from Team India’s jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The global governing body emphasized that all teams participating in ICC tournaments are required to display the official logo, which includes the host country's name, on their jerseys.
“These claims are baseless,” an ICC source said, adding it ‘is the responsibility of every team to feature the tournament logo on their kits’. “Any team failing to comply with this rule will face strict action.”
