Sindh cabinet okays "Sindh Medical Act 2023"

The Sindh cabinet on Saturday took several decisions including the approval of the Sindh Medical Act 2023 and Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences Bill, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired the cabinet meeting that also approved the Sindh Immunization and Epidemic Control Act 2023.
The purpose of the bill is to control epidemic diseases while parents are required by law to vaccinate children.
Under the new act, only government-authorized vaccinators will be able to administer the vaccine.
Likewise, the faculty will supervise paramedical courses, training, and their certification under the Sindh Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences Bill.
The cabinet also allowed Zahedan University of Medical Sciences to have agreements with Sindh medical institutes.
Zahedan University delegation wants to sign MoUs with Sindh Government JPMC and Aga Khan University.
Under the MoU, Iran and the government of Sindh want to benefit from each other's expertise in the medical field.
The meeting also okayed ratification of the MoU between PPHI and the Sindh health department.
The government has given 1380 health facilities to PPHI, out of which, at present PPHI has 1242 health facilities, and 138 health facilities are yet to be provided.
Under the MoU, 8 health facilities are to provide PPHI in District Larkana, 5 Eastern Karachi, 34 Malir, 23 Jamshoro, and 90 different districts of the province.
The meeting of the Sindh Cabinet approved the upgrading of Mehar Hospital and later handed over Taluka Hospital Mehar to Gambit Institute for ten years.
The Cabinet also approved Rs 500 million for the renovation and rehabilitation of Mehar Hospital.
The cabinet gave its node to Sindh Medicolegal Act 2023 as there is a need to organize the medico-legal service.
The meeting okayed the spending of a 60 percent oil and gas production bonus from Tando Allahyar in the UC taluka and 40 percent on public welfare in another UC taluka of the district.
“100 percent of the bonus will be spent on health and education if there are important projects, the cabinet observed.
K Electric has been claiming Rs 11 million to Rs 12 million for delayed payment from Sindh government agencies.
K Electric has been demanding an average bill from Sindh government departments for many years.
The Energy Minister suggested to the Sindh Cabinet that a bill payment agreement be entered into with K Electric.
The Cabinet asked that the draft agreement be approved by the Cabinet.
