Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that all speculations regarding souring ties with China have died down with the arrival of its foreign minister who has come to Islamabad to attend the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) moot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The foreign minister who was talking to media outside the Parliament House where the three-day moot of Oraganization of Islamic Countries’ foreign ministers is taking place from today (Tuesday), said it was for the first time that the Chinese foreign minister was visiting Pakistan.
All conjectures regarding deteriorating relations with China have come to an end with the arrival of its Foreign Minister Wang Yi. It shows China’s resolve that it will not desert Pakistan,” the beaming minister said.
He also expressed his pleasure over PPP Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s retraction from his earlier threat regarding impeding the OIC moot if the National Assembly session was not called and no-trust motion not allowed to be presented. He hailed Bilawal’s decision regarding opposition’s assurance for the peaceful conduct of the OIC moot in Pakistan.
Mr Qureshi maintained that Pakistan turned world’s attention towards the Afghanistan issue in the OIC’s meeting held in December last year. “We want to raise the issue of atrocities in the Illegally Occupied Indian Held Kashmir during the OIC moot. The prime minister of Pakistan and its foreign minister will raise their voice for Held Kashmir” he vowed.
