There was a complete shutter down strike in Kandhkot, Sindh on Monday to protest kidnappings of three people, including a seven-year Hindu child Samrat Kumar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
All markets and shopping centers such as Ghala Mandi Shajra Chowk, Main Bazaar and Sarafa Bazaar remained shut.
Traders, on the other hand, said that the strike would continue until peace was restored in their area.
Talking to 24News, a trader said that police had completely failed to maintain law and order situation in the district.
On the other hand, members of Gola tribe held a sit-in on the Indus Highway to press the authorities for the release of three members of their tribe.
The protestors said it was unfortunate that despite the fact that kidnappings for ransom and other heinous crimes were on the rise in Kashmore district, police were acting like a mute spectator.
They said they would not relent until and unless their tribesmen were released.
It merits mention here that incidents of kidnappings for ransom, robberies and mugging have become a routine in district.
