Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has declared that no one is allowed to hold a rally or protest in Islamabad as per the court orders and stern action will be taken if anyone violates the Section 144, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Friday, Mohsin Naqvi maintained “We are bound by the law and the government will implement the verdict of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in this regard in letter and spirit.”

He said the Islamabad High Court, in its orders, has very clearly stated that there is no permission to hold a gathering, rally, march, or sit-in.

Responding to a question, the Interior Minister said no application seeking permission for the protest demonstration on Sunday has so far been received. He said action will be taken against the violators of the law and Section 144.

Answering another question, he said those who violate the Islamabad High Court’s orders will be responsible for the consequences.

Responding to a question, Naqvi said “I am not in contact with Adiala Jail.”

The interior minister said “The Centre gave 15 FC platoons to the KP government but instead of combating terrorism they are launching an attack on Islamabad.”

After 18th Amendment, Mohsin Naqvi said, the law and order issue is the responsibility of the provincial government.

The minister said that on November 24 an important foreign delegation will visit Islamabad so they will have to suspend the mobile phone service on their prescribed routes.

He said that holding protest is everyone’s legal right and no one will create hurdles in peaceful and lawful protest. But holding protest on the occasion of foreign delegation’s visit is a matter of concern, he added.

Mohsin Naqvi said those people who will hold protest rally on that particular day will face the music. He strongly rejected rumours that any negotiations being held with Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

To another query regarding Bushra Bibi’s statement, he said “These (PTI) people have brought the US, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the local politics. They even did not respect the SCO Summit. “They blame the US one day and the Saudi Arabia the other day for their own failures,” he said and added “If there is damage then the ‘attackers’ will be responsible.”

The minister said he personally was not in favour of shutting businesses, roads and internet.
