The authorities in Rawalpindi have adopted stringent measures to maintain law and order in the wake of a protest call given by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority issued an official notification directing all bus terminals to remain closed from 9 pm tonight.
This decision is part of broader efforts to maintain order. The notification warned that non-compliance will lead to legal action under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Furthermore, hotels are instructed not to check in any new guests starting the night of November 22 and all accommodations be vacated by 8 am on November 23.
Local police, including those from the New Town precinct, have communicated these directives to hotel owners via voice messages. The move is aimed at preventing any potential disruptions or misuse of lodging facilities during the planned protest.
Authorities have emphasized that these measures are essential to ensure public safety and maintain peace during the politically charged event.
