Two more polio cases take toll to 52 in Pakistan

An alarming rise being witnessed in poliovirus cases in Pakistan as the tally hit 52 mark as two more cases of the disease were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to health department officials, both the new cases were detected in tehsil Darezanda of Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Poliovirus was found in a girl who was only 36 months old and also in a 16 months old boy.
The total number of poliovirus cases reported during current year from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has now reached 13.
Balochistan reported highest the number of polio cases which is 24.
According to latest data, 13 cases of polio were reported from Sindh, and one each from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
