Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary Higher Education Department has rejected a summary seeking end to the forced leave of VC Gomal University after raising objection and sent it back to the governor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to sources, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali Khan approved the summary asking for the termination of Gomal University Dr Iftikhar's forced leave for the fourth time after personally hearing VC Dr Iftikhar.
Later, he approved the summary of termination of forced leave and sent it to the HED for issuing notification.
Secretary HED, however, returned the Governor's summary with objection.
It should be noted that Dr Iftikhar, the VC of Gomal University, was threatened by former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur for defying the latter’s unlawful orders that led to the forced leave of the former.
Following that, the PTI's then Acting Governor Mushtaq Ghani sent the VC on a 90-day forced leave and turned the educational institution into a political arena.
