Rescued leopard succumbs to bullet wounds in Islamabad

A female leopard found in seriously injured condition in Muzaffarabad yesterday died in Islamabad on Sunday (today), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During her medical examination, it has been transpired that the leopard belonging to the endangered species was hunted down. The medical team found six cartridges of LG rifle from her body.
The medical team took a thorough x-ray and medical examination of the big cat. The injured leopard was a female. Her body was pierced with six bullets. Her backbone was broken and her lower part was completely paralyzed.
After being hit by the bullets, the wild big cat fell into a ditch near the bank of Neelum River in area called Noseri in Muzaffarabad.
The body of the leopard has been shifted to Wildlife, Islamabad.
This kind of rare leopard is being hunted down avidly in Azad Kashmir.
Yesterday, the locals rushed to rescue the injured leopard a few kilometers away from Muzaffarabad city.
Wildlife Director Naeem Iftikhar Dar along with the team reached the site to rescue the leopard. He said that the lower part of the leopard was not moving. He further informed that the leopard was given medical aid.
Locals also offered meat to the injured leopard in order to provide him some energy.
