Lahore Zoo to be upgraded by January 31, says Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi visited Lahore Zoo in Karat on Saturday to inspect the ongoing upgradation work of the zoo, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


He said the deadline to complete the work is January 31 and ordered to speed up the construction activities and deploy additional labour force. He said that the work should be done in three shifts and the number of workers should be increased in the night shift.


The Chief Minister said that he has approved the upgradation plan of Lahore Zoo to provide quality entertainment facilities to the citizens.


He said that 100 new animals will be brought to the zoo, including a hologram zoo. He said that the new animals will attract the interest of the citizens, especially children.


He also said that 142 species of marine life will be kept in the aquarium at Lahore Zoo.


He said that the cages for the animals will be made according to world standards and Lahore Zoo will be upgraded according to international standards.


The Chief Minister was briefed by Secretary Wildlife about the progress on the upgradation plan of Lahore Zoo.


Provincial Ministers Mansoor Qadir, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Bilal Afzal, Advisor Wahab Riaz, Secretary Forests, Secretary Construction and Communications, Secretary Planning and Development Board, Secretary Livestock, DG Wildlife, Director Lahore Zoo and Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences were also present on this occasion.
