Aamaya Kashif, a Grade 2 student of Sacred Heart Cathedral High School (Girls), Lahore, has brought pride to her school, family, and city by winning the Bronze Medal in the prestigious Junior English Olympiad (JEO)-2024.

Aamaya (eight years old) expressed heartfelt gratitude to her teachers for their guidance, which played a pivotal role in her success.

The International Contests Center (ICC), organisers of the JEO, congratulated Aamaya for her brilliant performance in the competition held in November 2024.

The contest challenged students with a paper-based format focusing on reading, grammar, and general English skills. Participants were given 50 minutes to complete the test, with a unique rule where three incorrect answers nullified one correct response, adding an extra layer of challenge to the competition.

Aamaya’s achievement has earned her a coveted spot in the Global Final of the Junior English Olympiad, set to take place in Sydney, Australia, from April 13-21, 2025.

Finalists will stay in luxurious five-star accommodations and participate in an enriching experience, including visits to iconic Australian landmarks such as the University of Sydney, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and Royal Botanical Garden.

The program will also feature cultural and educational excursions, such as visits to the Museum of Australian Democracy and the National Arboretum in Canberra.

What is the Junior English Olympiad (JEO)?

The Junior English Olympiad is an esteemed international competition aimed at fostering English language proficiency among students. Jointly organised by the International Contests Center (ICC) and UNICEP, the Olympiad equips participants with essential skills like everyday literacy, critical thinking, and clear communication—key to academic and professional success.

About the Organizers

The ICC, one of the largest academic contest organisers in Asia, collaborates with the globally recognised Copernicus Olympiad of the United States to offer international platforms for students from Grade 2 to Grade 12.

These contests provide opportunities for students to gain recognition and compete in disciplines like English, mathematics, physics, and natural sciences.
