President will sign PM’s forwarded summary for top military appointments: Sources  

President Arif Alvi will sign on the summary of the Prime Minister Office forwarded to appoint Gen Asim Munir as the new Chief of Army Staff and Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as the new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), reported 24NewsHD TV channel quoting sources.  

Sources claimed that President Alvi will sign the summary of top military appointments. 

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister decided to appoint Gen Asim Munir as the next COAS and Gen Sahir Shamshad as the new CJCSC.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that President Alvi should see the summary as per the constitution but with a political viewpoint.
