More than 67,700 citizens fined for violating line lanes across Punjab

More than 67,700 citizens were fined for violating line lanes this month across the province including Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to spokesperson, Lahore Traffic Police fined more than 42,000 citizens for violating line lanes. 

Moreover, Rawalpindi traffic police issued 3040, Faisalabad 2405 and Gujranwala 6725 challans for violating line lanes. 

Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig said that line lane challans are being issued to achieve smooth traffic. 

He said with the organization of green lanes in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan, traffic in the city is becoming more smooth. 

Additional IG Traffic said line lanes are being restricted in other districts by placing cones on the roads. 

Line lane restrictions significantly reduce accidents, Additional IG Traffic said.

He said that Traffic Education Unit is briefing the citizens regarding the usefulness of line lanes and green lanes. 

Citizens should adhere to line lanes for safe travel and easy access to their destinations, Mirza Faran Baig said.
