The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has granted interim bail to Bushra Bibi, spouse of PTI founder Imran Khan, in cases related to the November 26 protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Duty Judge Shabbir Bhatti approved the bail against surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 each and extended it until January 13, 2024.

Bushra Bibi appeared in court accompanied by her legal counsel. The cases were filed at Tarnol Police Station and Ramna Police Station, with allegations of incitement and planning linked to the PTI protest.

The FIR registered at Ramna Police Station, sealed earlier on instructions from higher authorities, alleges that the protest and its violent incidents were pre-planned.

According to the FIR, the planning reportedly took place within Adiala Jail under the direction of Imran Khan. PTI leaders, including Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Omar Ayub Khan, and Sheikh Waqas Akram, were accused of executing Imran Khan’s orders. Rangers personnel were allegedly targeted during the protest, resulting in fatalities. A Land Cruiser driver crushed three Rangers officials during the protest. Other PTI leaders, such as Murad Saeed, Zulfi Bukhari, Rauf Hassan, and Hammad Azhar, are also named in the case. Charges include murder, terrorism, and incitement against government and military institutions.

Earlier, on December 21, Bushra Bibi surrendered before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi concerning 32 cases related to the same protest. ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah granted bail after reviewing arguments from her counsel, Faisal Malik.

The cases highlight allegations of incitement through video messages, targeting government and military entities, and inciting violence during the protest.
