Major martyred as 13 terrorists killed in three separate engagements in KP

A major ranked officer embraced martyrdom as security forces killed thirteen terrorists in three separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations.

“On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in general area Jani Khel, Bannu District. During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and resultantly, two Khwarij were sent to hell,’ read the ISPR statement.

According to ISPR, another intelligence based operation was conducted in North Waziristan District.

In the ensuing fire exchange, five terrorists were effectively neutralised by security forces, while eight others got injured, the ISPR statement added.

“However, during intense exchange of fire, Major Muhammad Awais (age: 31 years, resident of District Narowal), a brave officer, who was leading his troops from the front, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat,’ read the ISPR statement.

According to ISPR statement, in a third encounter that took place in South Waziristan District, own troops successfully neutralised six Khwarij, while eight khwarij were injured.

“Sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthens our resolve,” the ISPR statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to security forces for eliminating 13 Khawarij during different operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Zardari expressed condolences with the family of Major Muhammad Awais Shaheed who laid his life for the motherland. 

President Asif Zardari appreciated the bravery of security forces for killing the Khawarij during the successful operations. He lauded Major Muhammad Awais of Pakistan Army for embracing martyrdom while bravely countering the terrorists in North Waziristan. He prayed for the elevation of ranks of the Shaheed officer and for grant of patience to the bereaved family.

The President expressed determination to continue actions against Fitna al-Khawarij till its complete elimination. He said the whole nation was with the security forces in the war against terrorism, adding operations would continue against the menace of terrorism till its complete eradication. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the security forces for eliminating 13 Khawariji terrorists in these operations. He paid tribute to Major Muhammad Awais of Pakistan army for embracing martyrdom while countering the terrorists in North Waziristan. He prayed for the elevation of ranks of martyred Major Awais in heaven and condoled with the bereaved family. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the martyred hero and said the whole nation saluted martyred Major Awais. He lauded Pakistan Army which was determined to eradicate terrorism in all forms.
