KEMU honours three professors with Lifetime Achievement Award

King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Alumni honoured Prof Muhammad Zubair, Prof Abdul Hafeez Khan, and Prof Muhammad Yaqin with the Lifetime Achievement Award, 24News HD TV channel reported on Sunday.
They were given the award at the 6th annual dinner at the University’s Library Hall held here on Sunday.
The Patron in Chief of this get-together was KEMU VC Prof Mahmood Ayaz.
The former principal King Edward Prof Khawaja Muhammad Sadiq, CPSP president Prof Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Health Minister Dr Javed Akram, and Surgeon General of Pakistan Lt Gen Mohsin Qureshi participated as special guests in the ceremony.
Prof Mahmood Ayaz welcomed the distinguished guests in the beautifully decorated historical Library Hall of Patiala Block, KEMU.
He highlighted the academic, research infrastructural development project and quality service delivery provided by the Faculty of KEMU and its seven attached hospitals.
Punjab Secretary of Health Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi, UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore, FJMU Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, FMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Zafar Ali Chaudhry, UCHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Masood Sadiq, Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof. Dr Nadeem Hafeez, Principal Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan Prof Dr Salim Laghari, Prof Dr Akhtar Sohail Chaghtai, Prof. Mahmood Zubair, Prof Dr Mahmood Hafeez and Dr Irfan were prominent among the participants. A large number of doctors and people from different walks of life also attended the dinner.
On this occasion, the caretaker provincial health minister Dr Javed Akram said that King Edward Medical University has organized a wonderful event where all the legends are sitting under one roof and reliving the memories of the past.
Dr Javed Akram further said that the purpose of giving a lifetime achievement award to a living legend who served the nation is that the future generation can benefit from his services.
Award-winning cardiologist Professor Muhammad Zubair said that he felt very happy and honoured to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Prof. Mahmood Ayaz said that KEMU has given awards to its alumni in recognition of their services in keeping with its tradition so that this tradition can be maintained in the future.
