The so-called fourth wave of coronavirus seems to gain momentum in Pakistan as the country sees an increase in the positivity ratio of coronavirus cases to 7.51 per cent, reported 24News HD TV channel.

As many as 32 more people succumbed to coronavirus and 3752 new cases emerged during the last 24 hours (Sunday), showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 32 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 23,048 which represents a ratio of 2.3 percent.

The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 7.51 percent, as 3752 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 49,947 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,008,446 that returned positive after conducting 15,717,061 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country is 57,799 with 2,677 patients in critical condition.

There were 1,641 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 927,599 with a 92% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 556 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 353,238 with 11,105 active cases. In Punjab, 5 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 10,944. With 203 new recoveries, 331,189 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 2,308 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 367,092 with 37,674 active cases. With 19 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 5,833. With 799 new recoveries, 323,585 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 298 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 141,925 with 2,543 active cases. The province reported 3 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 4,420. With 231 new recoveries, 134,962 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 77 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 29,571 with 1,371 active cases. The province reported 3 new deaths as the death toll reaches 325. With 145 new recoveries, 27,875 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 261 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 85,780 with 2,359 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reached 793. With 149 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 82,628 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 207 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 23,093 with 2,068 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 610. There were 46 new recoveries in the AJK as 20,415 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 45 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 7,747 with 679 active cases. With one new death reported in the province as the death toll reaches 123. There were 68 new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 6,945.
