The railway authorities have decided to reintroduce an energy conservation plan, with a focus on transitioning railway stations across the country to solar energy.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, this phased project will begin by converting 41 railway stations to solar power in the first phase.

The Central Board of Railways has initiated the bidding process, with four companies—Namir Energy Limited, Solar Tech, Hajiweri Enterprises, and Manjhi Construction Private Limited—submitting their bids.

The channel reported that the technical evaluation of these bids is currently ongoing.

The stations included in the first phase of the project are located in various cities, including Jia Baga, Kot Radha Kishan, Changa Manga, Pattoki, Qaisar, Sher Shah, Harappa, Mian Channu, Sahiwal, Lodhran, Chichawatni, Shujabad, Kasowal, Yousufwala, Nawabshah, Gambat, Pano Aqil, Ghotki, Tando Musti Khil, and Bin Qasim.

This initiative aims to significantly reduce the energy consumption of the railway network and promote sustainable energy use across the country.
