Formally, users cannot have two WhatsApp accounts on one phone. But since most phones now include dual-SIM technology, it is not unconventional for users to want to manage both numbers with WhatsApp even if they only have one device.
And Chinese smartphone makers such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and Vivo are kind enough to offer alternative solutions on their phones. Even Samsung comes with a dual messaging feature on its devices to help you use WhatsApp for your two phone numbers on the same device.
How to enable Dual WhatsApp on a smartphone?
Step 1: First, go to the ‘Settings’ of your smartphone.
Step 2: In Settings, users can look for Dual apps, Clone app, Twin app, or Parallel apps option. The name of the function will depend on the smartphone you have. For example, a One Plus device has a ‘Parallel Applications’ option.
Step 3: Under this function, you can activate the ‘WhatsApp’ option to activate your second account.
Step 4: Users also have the option to change the name of the second account to another name to easily differentiate between the two accounts.
Step 5: Now, go back to the ‘Home Screen’. You will see two different icons for WhatsApp Messenger.
Step 6: Open the parallel application and start the process of setting up a new account.
Steps to set up a WhatsApp account:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp account and tap ‘Accept and continue’.
Step 2: Enter a phone number for which you want to set up the account and tap ‘Next’.
Step 3: You will then receive an OTP for verification.
Step 4: Once you enter the OTP, you will be asked to complete the setup process such as name, display image and your account will be set up.
WhatsApp may soon allow users to react to messages, reactions info tab spotted
WhatsApp is reported to be making more iterations to the rumoured message reactions feature. This was spotted in the past as well, and it essentially looks to allow users to react to a specific message in a chat. A new reaction info tab has been spotted under development, allowing users to see who reacted to a message easily. Message reactions are reported to be available in individual chat threads and group chat threads. The upcoming feature from WhatsApp is likely to allow users to react to a message using different emojis.
WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is planning to release the possibility to react to messages in a future update. This feature is said to be under development and it may not be available in the latest beta either. While reactions will show up below the message, there is a separate reaction info tab that will let users see who reacted to a message.
The tipster has shared a screenshot of the new reaction info tab. It is seen that all reactions are listed in the first tab called “All,” then WhatsApp groups who reacted to a message using a specific emoji, in a separate tab. WABetaInfo reports that a user will be able to react to a specific message once and reactions are limited to six emojis.
The feature has been spotted during the development of WhatsApp beta for iOS, but WhatsApp is reportedly also working on bringing the same ability on WhatsApp beta for Android as well.
WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Desktop users recently got a new custom sticker tool that allows users to create stickers using photos from the computer. This feature is rolling out for Mac and PC users. Before this, users would have to use third-party apps to make their own stickers before sending them on WhatsApp. There is no clarity on when it will be available for Android or iOS users.–bollyinside.com
