Veteran Pakistani actress Saba Hamid called on Pakistanis to prioritize communicating with their children in their native language rather than in English.
The actress urged parents to promote native languages in children's upbringings to preserve cultural heritage.
Lately, the actress took to her Instagram handle and posted a written picture that reads, “Speak your native language to your children or watch it die within the next 20 years.”
She also stated, “Looking down on your relatives who speak your native tongue because you speak perfect English is stupid. It is like being proud of borrowed clothes”.

Her stance is appreciated by her fans for bringing attention to this crucial issue.
In the comments section of the post, one of the users said, "Indeed. Well said, Sabaji. My niece and nephew speak fluent Urdu despite being born and raised in Canada. This is because their parents always prefer to speak Urdu at home."
It is important to note that actor Hina Bayat decried the increasing tendency to use English as a status symbol while belittling Urdu, which is a common national language of Pakistan.
“It saddens me when I see we have started taking pride in not knowing Urdu,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
