Punjab CM Maryam orders TORs finalization for providing free plots to public

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formed an 8-member committee to finalize Terms of Reference (TORs) for providing free plots to the public, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Chairing a meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed three and five marla housing schemes under CM’s dream that every homeless person has his own roof.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif set a target of constructing 20,000 houses in Punjab in February and ordered to meet the target of constructing houses in Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz ordered that the target of constructing 100000 houses annually should be met at all costs.
The Chief Minister was briefed that development of 35 housing schemes, 2807 plots completed in 22 districts of Punjab.
She ordered to accelerate the development of 9 housing schemes, 1119 plots in 7 districts.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif also reviewed progress on projects of Apna Ghar program.
The meeting also reviewed recommendations and suggestion for the scheme to provide free plots to homeless citizens in Punjab.
The meeting was briefed that the loans of Rs8.2 billion have been released for the construction of 9015 houses and 2050 people have also received the second installment of loans for the construction of houses.
It was briefed that 4841 houses are under completion under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program.
The number of citizens who have visited the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar portal has increased to 728,000, the meeting was briefed.
About 400,000 applications for Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar have come with complete documents.
More than 74,000 draft applications have also been submitted to the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar portal and the process of submitting documents is ongoing.
