Renowned industrialist and Chairman of Deen Group of Companies SM Muneer, also known as Bhaijaan, who died of cardiac arrest Monday night, was laid to rest in Karachi on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
His Namaz-i-Janaza was offered at a mosque located near his residence in Defence Phase-8 and he was laid to rest in the local graveyard.
A large number of political and social figures including well-known industrialists attended the funeral prayers.
Belonging to Chinioti community, SM Muneer was born in 1945 and he got involved in leather business in 1964.
He successfully set up many textile factories. He was also elected as the President of FPCCI. Moreover, he was also a board member of various companies and banks.
SM Muneer, despite his kidney disorder, took the lead in taking the problems and issues of the business community to the government. He also represented industrialists in the meeting with the Sindh governor yesterday and a few hours after the ceremony, he had suffered heart attack which proved fatal.
Condoling SM Munir’s death, PTI chief Imran Khan in a tweet said “Saddened to learn of the passing of SM Muneer. He was on our SKMT Board and one of our most generous donors. My prayers & condolences go to the family.”
