Ex-PM Raja Pervez Ashraf seeks acquittal in rental power case

Former prime minister and senior PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf's lawyer has filed a petition in Islamabad’s accountability court seeking acquittal in the rental power case after the NAB amendment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The hearing was conducted on Tuesday by Judge Abida Sajjad of the the accountability court.
Lawyer Arshad Tabraiz took the plea in the application that some accused have already been acquitted from two similar references regarding rental power case.
The allegations in this reference are also similar, the lawyer argued.
The court adjourned the hearing till November 18 while seeking reply from the NAB.
