Turkey appoints Irfan Nazir Oglu as new ambassador to Pakistan
Expected to assume his duties by end of this month; Outgoing ambassador Dr Mehmet Pacaci to assume new role at OIC Headquarters

Turkey has appointed Irfan Nazir Oglu as the new ambassador to Pakistan, replacing Dr Mehmet Pacaci, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to diplomatic sources, Irfan Nazir Oglu, who is currently the Director General of Support Services at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara, is expected to arrive in Islamabad and assume his new responsibilities by the end of this month.
Outgoing ambassador Dr Mehmet Pacaci, a close associate of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and a prominent Muslim scholar, has already started his farewell engagements in Islamabad.
Dr Mehmet Pacaci will be taking on a new role at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah, where he will continue his work against Islamophobia as a special representative.
His departure is scheduled for the end of September, and he is expected to take up his new position shortly thereafter.
