Nawaz Sharif denies wrongdoing, criticizes judges during Lahore rally

Former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday asserted his innocence and criticized judicial decisions, stating that he was unfairly targeted by the judges, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a rally in Lahore, Sharif expressed pride in his service to the nation, highlighting his dedication to his nation and asserting that his actions were motivated by a sincere commitment to public welfare. He emphasized that his supporters' affection was a testament to his sincerity and dedication.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) chief raised concerns about the fairness of judicial proceedings, citing the departure of judges involved in his cases and suggesting ulterior motives behind their resignations.

He questioned the integrity of the judiciary, alleging bias and asserting that his innocence had been proven repeatedly.

Highlighting instances where judges monitoring his cases later resigned, Sharif implied corruption within the judicial system, stating that a judge who had been monitoring his cases resigned shortly before becoming Chief Justice.

Sharif pledged to continue working tirelessly for their betterment, promising to fulfill their expectations and striving to address the nation's challenges.

He vowed to pursue justice and uphold the rule of law, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability.

Addressing economic hardships faced by the populace, Sharif lamented rising inflation and unemployment, promising to prioritize economic stability and job creation.

He recalled a time when livelihoods were secure and inflation was under control, expressing determination to restore prosperity and dignity to Pakistani households.

 Sharif called upon his supporters to stand united and reaffirmed his dedication to the PML-N, urging them to work together towards a prosperous and thriving nation.

Rallying supporters to ensure that they vote for the PML-N in the February 8 elections, Nawaz vowed that he would “leave no stone unturned” to ensure that Pakistan progresses.

“There was peace when Nawaz Sharif was in power. There was no inflation, petrol was cheap. I want to bring that era back and want to see that peace once more in your homes,” the PML-N supremo said, who is eyeing a fourth stint as the prime minister.
