Court hands over death sentences to two convicts for spreading religious hatred on social media

District Sessions Court in Islamabad has handed over death sentences to two convicts for spreading religious content on social media, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
The death sentence was pronounced by Additional Sessions Judge of Islamabad Afzal Majoka. A case was registered against the accused in FIA Cyber Crime Wing Islamabad for spreading insulting content on social media.
Accused Ayaz bin Tariq and Afaq Ahmed were sentenced to death under Section 295C besides five lakh rupees fine on each.
The convicts were also sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees under Section 11 of the Penal Code. A case was registered against the accused by FIA Cyber Crime Cell Islamabad in 2021.
