The major opposition party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has formally suspended its negotiation committee and replaced it with a new coordination committee, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the decision was made after consulting PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, and the coordination committee will now focus on strengthening ties with opposition parties to build a 'Grand Opposition Alliance.'
Omar Ayub has been appointed as the head of the coordination committee, with other key members including Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Senator Hamid Khan.
Meanwhile, PTI has also expanded its International Liaison Committee by adding former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri to its ranks.
The committee already includes Shehbaz Gill, Atif Khan, and Sajjad Khan and will focus on global advocacy and diplomatic engagement for PTI.
The PTI has officially issued a notification for Qasim Suri’s appointment to the international committee.
