CDA amends rules for construction of multi-storeyed buildings

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has amended the building rules for the construction of multi-storeyed buildings in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
In this regard, the CDA Board also approved increase in floor area ratio for large commercial plots.
The CDA also approved to increase the ratio from 1:8 to 1:10 for plots of 3,000 to 5,000 yards with giving approval of FAR 1:12 for plots larger than 5000 yards.
The building plan will be approved on payment of 25 percent of the amount and in case of payment of 50 percent of the amount, possession of the plot will be given.
It was also decided to increase the discount on lump sum payment of plot amount to 15 percent with taking decision to increase discount for overseas Pakistanis in case of payment in dollars.
CDA Board also decided to increase concession from 15 percent to 20 percent in case of payment in dollars.
It was further decided to increase the floor area ratio which will be applicable to new and old buildings and to increase the floor area ratio will also apply to the buildings of the housing societies.
Buildings constructed after 2007 will have to get a sustainability certificate, the text of CDA decision said.
The amount of construction of additional floors will be decided by the CDA Finance Wing.
