Widow, daughter ‘buried alive’ in a wall for property in Hyderabad

One can find numerous cases of families disintegrating due to the unseemly desire for landed property in our society with perfectly humane people tend to become leaches of sorts when there’s a chance of grabbing hold of a family home. And same happened in Pakistani city of Hyderabad where police recovered a widow and her daughter who were entombed alive in the wall over a land dispute, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The police recovered the mother-daughter duo on Saturday a day after they were “buried alive” in their home by the sons of woman’s brother-in-law who are now on the run from cops.

The accused got incensed after developing a dispute over property at a home located in Unit Number 5 of Latifabad area in Hyderabad and ensepulchred alive their aunt and cousin in a wall inside the house.

According to a police spokesman, the accused fled from the scene after committing the crime.

After getting information, a team from B-Section Police Station rushed to the house and took out the woman and her daughter alive by breaking the wall.

The spokesman said as per initial investigation the women were buried behind the wall for one day. The police were now conducting raids to arrest the accused, the spokesman added.

 After getting freedom, the woman, named as Tasleem Jahan who is a widow, lodged a FIR against the accused, saying she and her 14-year-old daughter Dua were buried alive in a wall over a property dispute.
According to the FIR, the woman said that the house in which they live has three portion and she and her daughter live in one of them while his brother-in-law has the property documents.

She further said her father-in-law’s brother-in-law also lived in this house along with his wife but they both have died, but their son, Sohail, harassed them in connivance with her late husband’s younger brother.

The widow said they entombed them in the wall at noon on June 28.
