Two brothers killed, two injured in daylight gun attack in Karachi

Six unidentified gunmen on three motorcycles opened fire on car rider five brothers en route to court for a murder case hearing at Guru Mandar in Karachi on Thursday.
Resultantly, two brothers were killed on the spot and two others were badly injured while one of them miraculously remained safe in the firing incident.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the deceased brothers belonged to Lasbela and were identified as Sajid and Umair and the injured as Wajid and Zubair.
The assailants fled the scene on motorcycles after the attack.
The police confirmed that there were five individuals in the car and both the injured were taken to Agha Khan Hospital where a condition of one of them was critical.
A 9mm pistol was used in the attack, and 28 shell casings were recovered from the scene. The assailants fired from both sides of the car causing it to crash into a shop's pole on the sidewalk. The Crime Scene Unit collected evidence from the spot.
Police say a murder case was registered against killed brothers
The police said the deceased brothers, Sajid Khan and Umair, were on their way to court for a hearing. The police said both the killed brothers were involved in a murder case that was registered against them at the Soldier Bazaar police station. They were reportedly involved in a previous murder of a relative.
A friend of the victims stated that they were heading to court for a hearing related to a 302 case. He mentioned that he was a childhood friend of Sajid and Umair, and that two brothers were killed while two others are being treated at Aga Khan Hospital.
SP says victims wer targeted due to personal enmity
SP Jamshed Alina Rajpar while talking to the media said the victims were residents of Lasbela and were targeted due to personal enmity when they were on their way to court for a hearing. This incident is suspected to be connected to a previous similar murder case and they were investigating on such lines. The SP said CCTV cameras in the vicinity are being reviewed for evidence.
Governor seeks investigative report of incident
The Governor of Sindh Kamran Tissuri sought the investigative report on the Guru Mandir incident from the Additional IG of Karachi Police and directed to investigate whether the incident was an act of terrorism or personal vendetta and called for the immediate arrest of those involved.
The Governor stressed that any attempt to disrupt the peace in Karachi will not be tolerated.
