An FIR has been lodged against several prominent Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders, including Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, Liaquat Baloch, and Ahmed Salman Baloch, following Sunday's sit-in at Bhikhewal Chowk as part of the party's "Awam ko Haq Do" movement.
The FIR, filed by Sub-Inspector Khalid Hussain of Iqbal Town Police Station, accuses the JI leaders of violating Section 144, which led to significant public inconvenience due to road blockages during the protest.
Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, along with nine other leaders, including Ziauddin Ansari and Khalid Butt, have been named in the complaint.
The protest, part of Jamaat-e-Islami's right-to-the-people movement, resulted in further legal action as a second FIR was registered against the leaders involved.
