LHC annuls order to block absconders’ national identity cards

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday declared the order to block the Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of absconders null and void, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the court order, blocking the identity cards amounted to a breach of human rights.
The notification issued by the court read that from now on family banking and special federal courts would not be able to block the CNICs of fugitives.
The court ordered the NADRA to unblock CNICs of the absconders.
