The government of Pakistan has decided to open its borders with Afghanistan for four days in order to facilitate the stranded people to cross the frontier.

In a statement issued in Islamabad on Saturday, the Foreign Office said the decision to open the borders at Torkham and Chaman has been taken on the request of the Afghan government.

The decision will facilitate the Afghan people stuck in Pakistan to cross into their country.

Both the border points will remain open from April 6 to April 9, the FO statement said.

Pakistan had shut down both the border points to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
