Lahore High Court (LHC) declared detained leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his family members to contest election from his native city Gujrat's provincial constituency PP-32.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, a two-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan pronounced the reserved verdict on the appeals against the Elahi family on Thursday.

The LHC bench dismissed the appeals against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and the women of his family and allowed them to contest elections from Gujarat.

The PP-32 Gujrat seat became vacant when Chaudhry Salik Hussain decided to hold onto his MNA post.

On this vacant seat, Elahi announced that he would contest the by-election scheduled for April 21.

lahi's family members visited Parvez Ealhi in jail and signed the nomination papers for the upcoming by-election from PP-32 Gujrat.
