Negotiations between the government and the protesting farmers bore fruit, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah showed up at the venue of the farmers' demo and assured them of providing relief and fulfilling their demands.

Rana Sana and All Pakistan Kisan Etihad representative Khalid talked to the media. Khalid said: “Today we have final negotiations with the government and the interior minister assured us of all-out support.”

“If the farmer is facilitated, the country will grow.”

Sana told the media that the prime minister will soon announce a special package for farmers that will bring in prosperity. Khalid led a delegation to the Prime Minister's House, the minister said, adding that his stance was to defer the bill payments which have already been delayed.

A committee consisting of three ministers has been formed to enforce the decision to fulfil the demands of growers, the minister said, adding that he is too a member of this body.

In reply to a question about the army deployment in wake of Imran Khan’s long march threat, he said:  “We will also deploy Rangers, FC and Sindh Police.

“We have made special arrangements for Imran Khan's sit-in. Farmers are our guests, we sit together and solve problems. Imran Khan is coming to invade Islamabad. Thus he will be dealt with an iron fist.”

Later, Khalid announced calling off the protest and the farmers started leaving the federal capital. The negotiation committee will remain in Islamabad for negotiations with the government.
