Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Afghan National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib should be careful in his choice of words.

During an address to party workers in Multan on Saturday, he said the Afghan security adviser should be ashamed for maligning Pakistan. He said Pakistan had played an important role in helping achieve stability in Afghanistan, adding that Afghanistan’s national security adviser should review his statement as he was creating obstacles in the road towards peace.  He said the world had acknowledged Pakistan's role in peace in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan would continue its efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The foreign minister said Pakistan had been placed on FATF's grey list in 2018 and alleged that some politicians had made efforts to get the country's name on the watchdog's blacklist.

He said that in FATT’s last meeting, it was noted that Pakistan had taken concrete steps to curb money laundering, adding there was no justification to keep Pakistan on the grey list anymore.

The foreign minister hoped that the country would soon move towards the white list if the decision is based on merit.

He said that Prime Minister had adopted a clear stance on the Palestinian issue and Pakistan played a critical role to stop Israeli aggression in Gaza. He said we presented the Palestinian issue at the UN through OIC and Arab League. He said Israel committed aggression against unarmed Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank and unleashed bloodshed. He said the entire nation was united on the issues of Palestine and Kashmir.

He said Pakistan's economy was now on a positive trajectory due to the prudent policies of the incumbent government.

On the occasion, Qureshi avoided responding to a question by a journalist regarding PTI’s defeat in by-polls
He said PML-N and PPP were divided from inside. H said in the PML-N, Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif had different opinions. He said the Tareen group was not a problem in passing the upcoming budget.
