PML-N and PPP agree on seat adjustments in Punjab by-elections

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have agreed on seat adjustment in Punjab during the by-elections which will be held on April 21, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, the PPP has decided to field candidates on one National Assembly seat and two Punjab Assembly seats while on all other seats the PPP will support PML-N candidates.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold by-elections in two constituencies of the National Assembly and 14 constituencies of the provincial assembly in Punjab on April 21. The PPP will field its candidates in NA-148, PP-266 and PP-268.

The PML-N will support PPP candidates on NA-148 seat vacated by former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani. While PPP will support PML-N in all constituencies except NA-148, PP-266 and PP-268.

PPP’s Syed Ali Qasim Gilani is contesting from NA-148, Alamdar Qureshi from PP-266 and Mumtaz Chang from PP-268.
