BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable at the Chandigarh airport.

The incident occurred around 3:30 pm when Kangana was about to board a flight to Delhi after a remarkable debut as a politician as she was elected from the Mandi seat in the Lok Sabha Election 2024.

After the viral video, the actress-turned-politician released a video message confirming the incident and linked it to rising extremism and terrorism in Punjab.

"A CISF personnel hit me on my face and hurled abuses. Firstly, I am safe and perfectly fine.

“As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff, came from the side, hit me on my face, and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports the farmers’ protest. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab.”

The Queen star shared a series of photos on her Instagram Stories to show her fans that she was en route to Parliament. Dressed in a fuschia saree and blouse, Kangana looks radiant in the pictures. In one of the photos, she is seen hugging her mother, Aasha Ranaut, as she departs for Delhi.

“On my way to Parliament. Mandi ki sasand (the Member of Parliament from Mandi),” she captioned one of the photos.

Kangana also shared a selfie and wrote, “Delhi calling.”

Following her win, Kangana Ranaut, during an interview with ANI, expressed her willingness to continue serving the people of her constituency.

“Mandi has not taken kindly to the insults for daughters. Regarding my departure to Mumbai, this (Himachal Pradesh) is my ‘janmabhoomi’ and I will continue to serve people here…So, I am not going anywhere. Perhaps, someone else will have to pack their bags and leave. I am not going anywhere,” Kangana said.

“My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s party, Bharatiya Janta party (BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my birthplace Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency). I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting the Lok Sabha polls. I feel honored and delighted to officially join the party. I look forward to being a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks.. (sic)”
