Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and social media activist Sanam Javed has alleged that the establishment and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz are responsible for her rigorous detention, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Speaking to media persons informally outside the anti-terrorist court, she claimed that the May 9 incidents were an excuse while PTI workers were already on the hit list of the powerful.

She said Maryam Nawaz and her party used to attack PTI women in the talk show before the May 9 events.  “It used to be said in TV shows that PTI was different from other political parties because of women.”

She refuted claims of incitement and challenged critics to produce evidence of her alleged inflammatory remarks.

If you accused me of swearing, that was my natural reaction, not provocation, she added.

Sanam Javed claimed that jail authorities confiscated dresses with Imran Khan's picture. “Now in this ‘democratic’ country, we can't even wear clothes of our own choice,” she said sarcastically.

She lamented people voted for PTI but the results came in favor of other parties.
