New York State Assembly recognises Kashmir Solidarity Day
Foreign Office praises role of NY State Assembly Member Nader Sayegh, American Pakistani Advocacy Group

The New York State Assembly on February 5 passed a resolution recognising the Kashmir American Day.
According to Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the resolution was passed on the day when Pakistanis and Kashmiris were observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day across the globe.
On February 5 every year, Pakistanis and Kashmiris living in every nook and corner of the world express their support to Kashmiris fighting for freedom from the Indian oppression and brutal use of force in the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir. They show their support for Kashmiris’ just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Chaudhri said that passage of the resolution by the New York State Assembly was a welcome step and it acknowledged the courage and unique cultural and religious identity of the Kashmiri nation. He said this resolution reflected the emotions of the Kashmiri nation vis-à-vis their inalienable right to self-determination and international support to this right of the people of Kashmir.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said the UN Security Council had guaranteed the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination. He said the resolution passed by the New Yok State Assembly in support of Kashmir showed that India could not hide the human rights violations in the occupied territory. He praised New York State Assembly Member Nader Sayegh and the American Pakistani Advocacy Group for their role in passage of this resolution.
