PIA once again decides to auction its ATR plane

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has once again decided to auction its ATR (Aerei da Trasporto Regionale) plane as previous bidder did not submit the price money, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
This ATR plane met with a minor accident three years ago on 20 July, 2020.
The PIA inquiry report found captain responsible for the negligence. Later, PIA took out all the parts of the plane as the ATR was declared unfit for flying.
The previous bidder gave bid of Rs0.83 million against the minimum bid set by PIA was Rs0.84m.
The PIA spokesperson said that the previous bidder did not deposit the money to the national carrier so PIA authorities once again open the auction to sale the ATR plane skeleton on May 11, 2022.
Pertinent to note that a passenger aircraft of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) escaped accident after it skidded off the runway while landing at Gilgit airport in 2019.
All passengers remained safe in the incident, the airlines.
He said the pilot skillfully regained control of the plane after the ATR-42 aircraft "slid off to the unpaved [area] to a minor extent during landing".
The flight PK-605 was carrying 53 people, including crew members, from Islamabad to Gilgit, according to the Gilgit deputy commissioner. The aircraft was pictured resting on its right side after coming to a halt in a grassy area next to the tarmac.
